The Sunday Candles | Anchor Inn | June 4, 2023
I attended The Sunday Candles' show on June 4, 2023 at Anchor Inn. It was a rare 3pm performance to celebrate exactly one year since their first show. The band is an indie rock group from Chicago, formed in 2021. The Sunday Candles are inspired by love, faith, and spirit!
The show was free and it was just the band playing. The early afternoon showtime made it possible for everyone to enjoy the day and still get home at a decent hour. The performance was amazing and the vibes were great. I'm so glad I was able to be there and experience their music.
I later saw a Facebook post by the band thanking everyone that made it out to the show. They were humbled by the compliments and touched by the opportunity to share their music. They said that they were blessed to have everyone there and wished everyone love and light.
I also saw a comment from someone who was also at the show. They said it was their first time seeing The Sunday Candles and that they put on a great show at Anchor Inn. I’d have to agree with that! I especially loved the “covers” that they played— two of which were songs by Forty Piece Choir, a band that a few of the members were in for many years!
The Sunday Candles have been busy recording their first album. We’ve heard through the grapevine that it's sounding really good and they can't wait to share it with everyone. Looking forward to adding it to our showgurlz spotify playist!
