Beheading the Icon at Liar's Club | March 14, 2023
Had a great time checking out Beheading the Icon twice this week! Tuesday's show at Liar's Club had me very speculative. One year ago, Gina and I went to a show at the same venue and we couldn't hear for days! I am happy to report that the sound this time around was robust and easy on the ears, even from the very front of the room.
BTI recently released their first single, Las Moscas. Written by Matthew (vocals), Osvil (drums), Jason (guitar), and Ryan (guitar), still of the band. Check it out here: https://open.spotify.com/artist/3pOXchWcdPuAhRfsVdD8tl?si=yXa6P5vMSHq1HWESuNiXMg
This show was their new bassist's first show with the band, and it was clear that he was having a great time sharing the stage with his bandmates.
The crowd roared and danced the entire show. The room was filled with friends, old fans, and I'm sure they gained a bunch of new fans that night.
As a photographer, I was especially happy with the way the Liar's Club stage was lit. I love playing with light and angles, and my proudest moment of the show was actually capturing great shots of the drummer and bassist, who are the players typically standing in the hardest-to-document positions.
